Debre Berhan Regional Camps

In Debre Berhan, they have approximately 30,000 IPDs and 1,500 orphans. The North Shewa Zone has over 100,000 IDPs scattered across the region. Lastly, the South Wollo Zone, the Tehluederie, Argoba, and Harbu camps in total have 10,800 IDPs and 1,500 orphans.

Agmas Ethiopia is an Ethiopia non-profit, non-government, non-political charity foundation registered with the Civil Society Organization of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Agmas acts as a facilitator with external entities (Diaspora) and vendors in services to handle logistics, transportation, delivery, and paper documentation.

Ethio-Canadian for Advocacy & Support (ECNAS)

Who We Are

Ethio-Canadian Network for Advocacy and Support (ECNAS) is a Canada-wide non-profit organization composed of members of the Ethiopian diaspora who are passionate about bringing sustainable peace, security, and stability to Ethiopia. ECNAS is a voice for our people who have been victims of repeated violence and displacement in various parts of Ethiopia (e.g. Benishangul, W. Wollega & N. Shewa).


Debre Berhan Region

Currently, ECNAS is committed for one year to giving 200 orphans $25 USD /month.  In January 2021, ECNAS in partnership with Shewa Peace & Devt Association raised $116,000 USD  for the Debreberhan Hospital and Injured Fighters and Civilians.  


Achievements & Results

  • National Emergency Fundraising Round 1 ($150,000 USD): Transferred via the ETH Emb in Ottawa (which includes the procurement of Orthopedics supplies from India) 
  • National Emergency Fundraising Round 2 ($38,000 USD): Transferred via the ENDF account directly 
  • (Jan 2022): Raised $120,000 USD for IDPs in Ataye (North Shoa) to provide the foundation stone to start construction in order to rebuild Ataye homes.
  • (2021): Raised $100,000 USD for IDPs in Afar in partnership with ADA
  • (2021): Raised $142,000 USD for Bahir Dar, Gondar, Debretabor 
  • (2021): In partnership with Wollo Bete Amhara & Derash raised  $82,000 USD.


ECNAS wishes to acknowledge all ECNAS supporters and partners both in North America and in Ethiopia for all their hard work and dedication to ECNAS’ vision. Since ECNAS inception, they have raised $4.3 Million USD to help war survivors in Ethiopia.

Medical Donations

(March 2022): Donated $2.5 Million USD worth of various emergency and critical medical supplies per MoH's list. In addition, ECNAS raised 80k USD for medical beds with the Ethio Canadians Physicians.


Orthopaedics Supplies

(Dec 2021): Bought from AFRI MED in partnership with People to People (Health Care Alliance for Ethiopia) AFRI MED -30K USD


Therapeutic Food for Children

(Jan 22): In Partnership with CFS raised $10K USD distributed in Debreberhan 

 

Psychosocial Support for Sexual Assault victims

(Dec 2021): In partnership with Nubia Integrated raised $16K USD
